A concrete overlay is the procedure of putting down polymer modified compound on an existing concrete surface. One bag of this overlay covers about fifty square feet and is used at 1/8″ thickness.
The existing concrete is ground to clean up any stains and level the concrete. If there are any fractures, they are repaired then guide is used. The self-leveling fluid is then used with a little assistance spreading it evenly throughout the concrete floor.
The broom finish overlay is used in both residential and commercial settings. It is fiber strengthened, polymerized with a great sand and other ingredients. It can take up to 6 hours of working time. It can be used inside or outside and is known for its broom finish. Trowel Mix is used frequently on floorings, sidewalks, patio areas, swimming pool decks and driveways.
Smooth finish overlay does not utilize sand but utilizes a heavy polymer cement with other ingredients. It is mixed with water and can be colored. Primer is not needed with the smooth finish overlay as the overlay can be colored prior to application or topically with an acid stain. It can be used inside and outside and a anti slip chemical can be added.
A stamp able overlay mix has a fiber, polymer, aggregate and other ingredients. Most typical places it is used is in swimming pools, showers, pond areas and waterfalls. It is also great for driveways, pathways, flooring and patio areas. Once mixed with water and used, styles like flagstone, slate, tile cobblestone, wood plant and more can be done.
Spray finish overlay mix has no fiber but it does have a heavy polymer and an incredibly fine sand in addition to other ingredients. It is used for vertical or horizontal finishes in commercial and residential projects. It drys rapidly and needs to be sprayed and shovelled within half an hour to an hour.
Overhead/vertical overlay mix has polymer, aggregate, fiber and other ingredients and is mixed with water. Due to the fact that it is 1/3 lighter than typical overlays, it does not slide, slough or droop and can be used overhead or vertical. It can be used to produce a look of a grotto, rock, boulder or cliff..
